Business Format Franchising

Business Format Franchising involved business expansion through the
replication of business outlets which are owed by franchisees.
Therefore the activity to be franchised must be one which is capable
of being carried out in a number of geographically dispersed units.
The activity should also be one in which the day to day decision
making can be effectivley undertaken at the level of each individual
unit.

Franchising is particularly well suited to business in which sales of
goods or services are through retail or wholesale outlets, particularly
where a promotion can create a quality image and the product or
service can be standardized with a few technical skills required to
operate individual outlets.
